”…Where is He who has been born King of the Jew? For we have seen His star in the East and have come to worship Him …And when they had come into the house, they saw the Child … and fell down and worshiped Him … they presented gifts to Him, gold, frankincense, and myrrh.”
Long before Jesus was born, Balaam prophesied that a Star would rise from Jacob (Numbers 24:17). What has the birth of Jesus got to do with a star? It is because whenever a great person is born, his/her star appears in the spirit realm. That is why the devil, through his agents, goes about seeking out people's stars and trying to manipulate their destinies.
The devil saw this greatness in Mordecai and he tried to use Haman to destroy him and all the Jews. Haman's anger was directed at what Mordecai stood for – the Jew's dedication to God as the only authority worthy of reverence. He manipulated the king into signing a decree that all the Jews should be destroyed, confirming his decision by removing his signet ring from his finger and giving it to Haman. The devil thought that power had changed hands when Haman received the ring, but the greatest power changed hands when Mordecai was dressed in the king's own royal robes and emblem, put on the king's horse, and paraded through the city by Haman himself chanting, “This is what happens to those the king wishes to honor!” (Esther 6:10).
Paul's dream was to go to Rome to preach to the most powerful man on earth at the time, King Augustus, but the devil was bent on stopping him. We all have our Romes and the devil is doing everything he can to keep us from getting there; he has seen our stars and he knows that we are destined to be great, so he is trying to redirect our destinies. But today, POWER MUST CHANGE HANDS in our lives, no matter what the devil may do. Everything that the devil has tried to hinder us from achieving will locate us and God will make a way for us today, even where there seems to be no way.
Our part is to develop a holy anger against the devil and tell him that enough is enough. We must remain in the place of prayer because that is one place that the devil does not have power to manipulate our lives and the lives of our children.
